英文版: 1. I had dinner quite early last night, so I got back to Taoyuan (the Peach Orchard) earlier too. I set up a mosquito net over the small bed at the entrance of the Taoyuan cabin early on, then got in. While listening to an audiobook, I gradually fell asleep. I have to say, sleeping outside with the natural breeze in this kind of weather is really comfortable. I probably fell asleep around 8 o'clock and slept until nearly 10. After that, I packed up the bedding and mosquito net, went back into the cabin, and continued sleeping. Maybe it was because I fell asleep too early—I woke up around 1 a.m. and couldn’t sleep anymore. Then, out of sheer habit, I picked up my phone and started reading my novel. That made it even harder to fall asleep; I kept reading until after 3 a.m., and only then did I finally feel sleepy and go back to sleep. Luckily, I slept straight through until my alarm went off at 5:30, and I didn’t feel too tired afterward. 2. After getting up, I first fed the chickens, ducks, and geese. Then I quickly did a set of Baduanjin (Eight-Section Brocade). Otherwise, I was afraid I’d put it off like I did yesterday—procrastinating until I forgot all about it, or even ended up not wanting to do it at all. The cool time in the morning is really precious, so I hurried to Taoyuan to continue pruning the peach trees. By the time I finished carefully pruning one row of peach trees, it was already past 7 o'clock, and the weather had indeed turned hot. So I simply packed up my tools, then did a quick wash-up. I also took the chance to clean my gloves and towel before heading home. 3. Once I got home and had dinner, I could comfortably settle down to relax, read my novel, and just "lie flat" (take it easy). 4. At noon, I used the Chinese cabbage my dad bought to make stir-fried shredded cabbage with lean pork shreds. It tasted pretty good. 5. The noon temperature was a bit hot again, but luckily, I hung a hammock in the woods by the pond at the door. With the natural breeze blowing, I could barely fall asleep. Days spent relaxing and reading novels really fly by. For example, this afternoon, it felt like I had just been sitting in the gateway, enjoying the cool breeze and reading my novel for a little while when it was already almost dark… |
